Quote:

-- As previously reported, Paul Heyman will be heading to WWE headquarters soon to work on the new CM Punk DVD. Last year, Heyman was interviewed for Steve Austin's most recent DVD set. Both Steve Austin and CM Punk personally requested that Heyman be involved in their projects.

-- Sin Cara will be returning to action on WWE's upcoming tour of Mexico. An announcement was made on on the April 30th episode of RAW that aired in Mexico. During a recent media interview promoting his return, Sin Cara said he expects things to go a lot better for him in WWE - and explained that he had a hard time adjusting to the WWE style.

Sin Cara specifically mentioned that he's used to working the "right side" of the body (as they do in Mexico, but not in WWE) - and he's now much more comfortable working the WWE style. [/quote]

Anyone can explain to me what exactly he meant by "right side" of the body? I don't really get it. o_O

It is to do with how moves are performed. Although, if you watch for this in matches these days, you may not see it as much.

Basically, you use your left arm as your main arm as much as possible. When performing a clotheslines, body slams, etc., you use your left arm. You lift them onto your left shoulder. You Irish Whip them to your left side.

In theory, this allows you to have matches that look more like fights, while allowing you to perform moves without injuring opponents. If both wrestlers understand the left side, they are less likely to injure themselves, or each other. But fewer and fewer wrestlers are sticking to this these days.

Watch Crush in this video for a demonstration.

Actually, it has nothing to do with how most wrestlers use the left side rule, in Mexico, the side you make moves from is completely reversed, thus, why its hard for Americans to go there, and it's hard for luchas to go anywhere else with ease. You have to completely switch your entire moveset and thought process.

Mexico's wrestling style is more unique than anyone thinks. Evey guy I trained with would not shut up about how hard it is to reverse yourself for everything.

For me, it is no problem. Most of the opponents that I have ever faced simply used whichever side felt comfortable. A lot of time, opponents would use both right and left during the same match.

And I only learnt last year that I was always right-orientated!

That is one fucked up school, man. They wouldn't tolerate that, here. :)

I guess it's kinda like driving a car and having the steering wheel on the left side, while in Singapore, we have it on the right side, yeah, it's pretty hard to change.

School? I was talking about ACTUAL wrestling matches for different organisations. IWW (Irish Whip Wrestling) was the only place that made single-sided-ness mandatory. And I agreed with that.

Okay, Rag, I wasn't trying to be a dick, but obviously you were. So, let me return in kind:

Present some kind of actual proof of all this wrestling experience or shut the fuck up about it. I've at least posted pictures of being in the ring and being in action. If you can't, no one will believe you.

Though I've only had three matches in front of a crowd less than 20, I still consider myself a former part-time wrestler, but I don't come down on people because of it.

I worked for FSW-NWA, I can call the owner anytime I want to confirm it, so put up or shut up. That's nice that in Ireland they are loose about what side people use, no wonder we hardly see any stars come out of there. In the states, even in the Indy promotions, it isn't tolerated. It's one of the universal BASICS of pro-wrestling, and anyone who practices different is either out of Mexico or a back-yarder. Keeping it universal is how you keep the safety level up, because everyone is trained the same way.

It isn't just schools here, Rag, its how PRO WRESTLING WORKS EVERYWHERE.

Don't ever come down on my experience in the ring, as far as proof goes, I'm the most legitimate wrestler ON THE BOARD. Also, I'm willing to bet I'm the only person here who actually KNOWS what the "iggy" is. Search all the dirtsheets you want, but the only way you learn that term is from having REAL experience.

Don't be a dick, I never tried to be with you, but if you are gonna cop an attitude, so will I.

Hope we can still be buds.

What the heck?

I wasn't insulting your experience. I was poking fun at my own. Almost every organisation in Britain and Ireland tries to copy the image of the original CZW, and call it "Extreme". It is mainly out-of-shape guys hitting each other with household objects and diving off things. That is why so few of them ever last. Seriously. Most wrestling events in over here don't even put their frickin' name on their posters. Just the phrase "American-Style Wrestling", and bad illustrations of WWE stars.

When I said "school?", I wasn't mocking your training. I was poking fun at my own stuff. I have had less than 30 matches in 12 years, and I have never lied about this. I never graduated from a wrestling school, having had several matches BEFORE my first time stepping into one. And the vast majority of my opponents could not tell you where there is a wrestling school. This is all stuff that I have been honest about.

Wrestling in Ireland is crap. Guys from over here rarely make it to London, never mind the WWE. So when someone like Finlay or Sheamus makes it, they either came from a old-style wrestling family, or they are huge with a really marketable look.

And ofcourse we're still buds.
