TNA Wrestling has learned that Kurt Angle has not been medically cleared to compete at LockDown this Sunday.
Angle has torn his MCL in his knee yet again. This is the fifth sidelining injury that Kurt has had within the last 18 months, most of them affecting the same leg.
Some websites claim that TNA already knew about Angle's latest injury, but this is not the case. On the last episode of Impact, Ethan Carter III attacked Angle. There is a theory that the attack was done to write Angle out of the LockDown pay-per-view, but the injury occured DURING the taping of this segment.
The latest injury casts further doubts on Angle's future in wrestling. Angle had always been prone to injury, but knee problems have seen him miss much of the last year. Angle also spent a few months out of action to receive treatment for alcohol dependency, but Angle was also recovering from another MCL tear at the time.
Angle was due to face ECIII in a cage match at LockDown, but this will not be happening now. There is a rumour that ECIII will be added to the Lethal Lockdown match as the 5th member of Bobby Roode's team. Someone would then be added to MVP's team to make it a 5-on-5 match.
