If the fact that I wrote "spoiler" in the title, and posted this in the spoiler section were not big enough clues, this article may contain a massive spoiler for this weekend's TLC - Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view.
The main event for the TLC pay-per-view will be a TLC ladder match for both the WWE and World Championships between John Cena and Randy Orton. In order to win, one man must remove one of the two title belts hanging above the ring.
The forthcoming Tribute To The Troops special was filmed earlier this week. The show is due to air on Boxing Day, which is almost 2 weeks after TLC. A solider at the show noticed that John Cena did not have either title belt with him. Other attendees noticed that he was not introduced as a champion. This may be an indicator that Randy Orton may have claimed both titles. Orton was not at TTTT.
Just to be clear, the WWE have intentionally left the rules to the match open ended in order to catch fans off-guard. While WWE programming insists that one man WILL win both titles, few people in the company expect this outcome to happen. With the winner only having to take down one title belt, one person could win and retain by taking down the title he already holds.
The most likely outcome right now is that both men will take down each other's championships, meaning that they will win each other's titles.
As of right now, no-one expects Orton to lose. As previously reported, management has no problem with John Cena losing ladder matches or battle royals as they are not seen as "real" matches. As these matches cannot be won by pinfall or submission, it would not give Cena's opponent a "clean" win over him. Strangely, they have the opposite opinion about Randy Orton because he appears to be at a disadvantage in ladder matches. This theory is because Orton has a condition that stops him completely raising his arms, making it harder to reach for titles. However, most fans are not aware of this and do not factor it as a disadvantage.
