We missed the opportunity to report this because there was much bigger things going on (like the deaths of Paul Walker and Nelson Mandela). But there have been several promotions within the WWE hierarchy in the last several days. And it has led to a lot of discomfort for the roster.

One of the most significant promotions sees Stephanie McMahon take up and even higher role from the company. One that leaves her poised to take over the company in the near future (possibly within 3 years). But this is only if Vince McMahon steps down or is removed as Chairman. This means that she is no longer directly involved with creative, although she will continue to appear as a character on television. The other significant promotion sees Triple H be put in charge of creative. While Vince McMahon retains ultimate authority over story lines, all future scripts must be done the the approval and direction of Triple H.

This has a lot of people very worried because Vince McMahon, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon have been directly responsible for the problems within creative over the past year. However, the internal feeling is that the writers have taken the flack for when their bosses ideas are not received well by fans. Triple H has been very vocal about the kinds of stars that he wants to push in the future, and this leaves a lot of the current roster out of the scope. There is concern that several people will be gone within the next year, and even some top stars may see their status reduced.

The only three people that are safe right now are John Cena, Big E Langston and Nikki Bella. The WWE still sees Cena as their single biggest commodity (now that The Rock is not around). Management were already very high on Langston and are wanting him to have a long run in the main-event picture. Nikki is considered the Diva with the most potential, partly because she is starting to take her training seriously, and also because she comes across the best on Total Divas and promotion for the show. Also, Cena is also a big supporter of Langston and girlfriend Nikki.

The most shocking twist is that even RANDY ORTON is not safe. While they still see Orton as a huge draw, they are beginning to have doubts about his reliability. The WWE is beginning to think that Orton does not have the drawing power that he used to. Orton also has a history of behavioral problems, and is reluctant to put most talents over. But the biggest criticism right now was Orton implying that he did not particularly want to be involved with the Total Divas show. However, if Orton had gone along with it, management may have turned a blind eye to those previous flaws.
