<blockquote class='quote\\_blockquote'><dl><dt>Quote:</dt><dd> </dd></dl><div>From TMZ.com:

WWE star John Cena has filed for divorce.

Cena filed the docs in Florida, claiming his marriage to Liz Huberdeau is "irretrievably broken." John and Liz were high school sweethearts but only married three years ago. They have no children.

Now here's the kicker -- Liz has already hired high-powered Miami attorney Raymond Rafool, the same attorney who repped Linda Hogan during her divorce ... and took Hulk to the cleaners.

But it won't be easy -- according to the docs, Liz signed a crippling pre-nup in 2009.

Liz' lawyer has already released a statement, claiming, "Although it is indeed unfortunate that John Cena decided to divorce his high school sweetheart Liz Cena; particularly, after they have come so far in their lives and in his career together, Liz will and really has no choice but to pursue all of her rights and entitlements."

The attorney adds, "Sadly, divorce is not the way Liz thought her perfect love story would end."

UPDATE:
Liz' attorney tells us, Cena blindsided her with the divorce filing. They had been having issues -- and Cena even approached her recently with a pre-divorce financial settlement agreement -- but Liz refused to sign it, convinced the relationship would still work out.

FYI -- It's not uncommon in celeb divorces to bring up pre-divorce settlement agreements because they help simplify otherwise messy splits.[/quote]

Regardless of my feelings about Cena or divorce, I support someone with his status getting a pre-nup. When he married Cena was a famous man with a face that is well known outside of wrestling. And that is not to mention the large pay-checks he collects. Even if his career went belly-up immediately after the wedding, Cena was set to continue collecting huge sums of money.

Regulars here know that I am not a Cena fan. But there are two things that I always respected about him. Except for when he had sidelining injuries, Cena has always worked at least 240 shows a year, and works around 300 matches a year. And also, Cena puts in many hours of charity work.

I cannot comment on what happened during their married life, as I do not have any idea what they were like together. But with Cena being away from home so much due to work, whatever pressures existed would be increased.

I do not suspect that Cena (or Liz) were unfaithful. In contrast to what this article suggests, they have not been a couple for that long. So it is possible that the pair married when it was convenient, not when they were both ready.

But then again, knowing that Liz has Linda Hogan's lawyer makes me less sympathetic towards her!

The singer Nick Lachey was worth $5 million when he proposed to Jessica Simpson. But Simpson's father refused permission to allow Nick to marry Jessica unless they married without a pre-nup. After 2 years, Nick gave in, and married Jessica without one.

When they divorced, Jessica Simpson was worth $25 million. Because there was no pre-nup, HE got half of HER MONEY. And she has to PAY HIM alimony.
