TNA Wrestling President Dixie Carter has told Digital Spy that she is open to the idea of a WWE/TNA crossover event, where the two rival organisations have their stars go head-to-head.

Carter, who has visited the UK to promote TNA's 2014 British tour, said that she enjoys the rivalry with WWE, arguing that it benefits both companies and - most importantly - the fans.

"I don't think [the WWE] shares my belief in this, but I believe that competition is 100% positively essential," she told Digital Spy.

"I think it's important for fans and for us. To have one company dominate, a) it's boring, and b) you are not being challenged enough. It's always better to have other options out there and I truly believe it makes both companies better."

When asked if she would ever be open to the idea of WWE and TNA stars appearing together in shows, she said: "I absolutely would do that. I'm not sure if they would do that, but I absolutely would."

TNA currently airs on Challenge in the UK and Carter said that she considers Britain the company's "second home".

"The UK is essential. It truly has become our second home. It's the first home worldwide that we have had ratings dominance. Fans in this country know what they like and they're very vocal about it," she said.

"They judge the product on what they see in front of them and it's not all about the history.

"We're talking about doing another season of the Bootcamp series on Challenge and we're also in talks about other UK TV projects so hopefully we'll be able to announce that in the coming months.

"And from a touring perspective, we're going to be filming in Glasgow, Scotland. That will be the first time that wrestling has ever been broadcast live from Scotland, so I'm really excited about that."

Speaking about the growth of TNA over the last decade, Carter said that she is "very proud" of the company's achievements on "limited resources", and that her aim is still to become "the most successful wrestling company in the world".[/quote]

I'm sorry Connor. I got it all wrong. We could see all kinds of 'once in a lifetime' matches. For example:

John Cena vs Kurt Angle
Jeff Hardy vs Triple H
Bully Ray & Devon vs Chris Jericho & Christian
Mr. Anderson vs Undertaker
Rob Van Dam vs Randy Orton
Chavo Guerrero, Jr. vs Rey Mysterio
Tara & Gail Kim vs Bella Twins

And the main event: Hulk Hogan vs The Rock.

It was more better than The Rock vs John Cena III, At least.

Punk, Danielson & others

Oh and the Duley boys & RVD were ECW first.

Yes, I left out guys like Punk and Danielson, because the WWE and TNA would leave them out.

Let's be realistic. One side is lead by Vince McMahon and Triple H. The other side is being led by Dixie Carter and Hulk Hogan. There is no way on earth one side is going to let even one star (apart from Christian) be buried by the other. Sure, the former Ring of Honor guys on both sides could give us the show of the millennium without anyone else getting a look in. But the respective brand leaders will want to make any loss as insignificant as possible. The best way to do that is to give us the matches we have already seen.

For example, look at TNA now. How friggin' often do we have to see Anderson vs Hardy, or Angle vs Styles? We have seen these matches so often that one guy can lose to the other without losing momentum or status. A WWE vs TNA pay-per-view would be an entire card of the same thing.

I honestly don't care either way. I would buy the thing just for a face to face (Not fighting each other mind you) meet & drink with James Storm & Stone Cold getting drunk and last call/stunner combo EVERY FUCKING BODY.

It would be a lot smarter than the Stone Cold / Sandman bit they did at ECW One Night Stand. :D

I hope you guys realise that this would never happen in a million years. Only way it would is if TNA were bought by Vince and they did that whole shitty Invasion angle again.

Also, Vince does not consider TNA competition and Dixie is just desperate for more viewers and awareness for the brand, hence why she would love this to happen.

It would be awesome though.

Let me tell why this will never happen,Never.

I remember those days were wee used to see cross promotions back in the day, but that was before viewership of a particular company went national, and back in a day when you could get away with draws and not having one guy go over another.

It's an entirely different animal now. Where before a company might not mind lending their talent to another company for a night, because no one would ever know who went over... today an event like that would be on PPV with hundreds of thousands of people watching, and reports for everyone else all over the Internet. That causes the big problem, because neither WWE or TNA would want their talent losing. You couldn't run draws because fans won't stand for it anymore. You could do screwjob finishes (not the Montreal kind), but then you have to do a rematch, and in the end, either someone goes over clean, or the fans get pissed, which is the last thing you want to do with a promotion like this. You could do a one off supercard where it's agreed that some of your talent will go over, and some of their talent will go over... but you're running the risk of killing off your talent that doesn't go over because it's such a highly visible one off... and at the end of the day whomever goes over in the main event matters the most...and how do you agree which company gets that honor?

As fun as it would be to see (and that is why the original NWO angle actually worked... because this is an idea that's been around for years)... logistically, it just doesn't make sense for at least one of the companies in the long run.
