As previously reported, Ric Flair may be done with TNA Wrestling. The only update to the story is that one large name is suggesting that Flair was not fired, but he quit. The concept that TNA released him is being considered to be "damage limitation".

People outside of the situation seem to think that Flair returning to WWE is a lock. In addition to being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame for the second time, Flair has been telling fans that he will end his career in WWE, and that his last match was in 2008 at WrestleMania 24. While some veteran investors are against bringing him, Vince McMahon and Triple H are said to be trying to sign a deal with him.

Flair has also signed a highly paid sponsorship deal with Coca-cola to advertise a new product. While the actual amount Flair is being paid has not been disclosed, there is suggestion that it is enough for Flair to leave professional wrestling and live out the rest of his life comfortably. However, his debts may continue to be lifelong, especially as he keeps running up huge bar tabs and requesting that other people pay them.

On the other hand, Referee Earl Hebner has confirmed that he has signed a new contract with TNA. He claims that the deal only runs into 2013, and that he plans to retire in TNA. Fans are speculating that Hebner intends to retire next year, but Hebner has so far denied this.

Little is known about the status of Alex Shelley and Matt Morgan. Shelley recently requested to be released from his TNA contract. And Matt Morgan has used up all of the maximum work dates on his contract until late October. TNA has made no effort to secure either individual, and they are both free agents. The WWE has contacted both men, but no deals have been reached.

Rumours of a possible nWo style faction starring Shelley, Morgan and Flair have been shot down. It is likely that WWE never had plans for a new stable.

I know exactly what you mean.

But then again, name a famous professional wrestling referee!

First of all, it is Scott Armstrong. Brian was Road Dogg.

And yes, they are well known. But they aren't as famous as Hebner. Even if the Montreal screw job didn't happen, he would still have been a legend for calling most of Hogan and Andres matches.

I would still like more if Hebner would be gone instead of Shelley...
