As seen on a recent episode of SmackDown, SD General Manager Booker T has banned the Brogue Kick.
The Brogue Kick is a variation of the Bicycle kick used by Sheamus. He defeated Daniel Bryan for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania after using only this move.
The move is not actually banned, but it is merely part of a story line. But there are conflicting reports as to why this is. One theory is that Alberto Del Rio will soon defeat Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Championship, now that Sheamus' main weapon is banned. Alternatively, another theory suggests that Sheamus shall be using the Cloverleaf as a submission finisher from here on.
Both Del Rio and Sheamus have been pushing the story line on Twitter. Del Rio has been praising Booker T for "seeing sense", while Sheamus has been demanding to get the move un-banned.

This is the fifth time that the issue of kicks to the head has been raised in WWE this year.
Autopsies on Canadian wrestlers Chris Benoit and Andrew 'Test' Martin revealed that both men had suffered from severe brain trauma. Both men had taken many unprotected chair shots to the head during their careers. Since then, the WWE has phased out a large number of moves which cause head trauma. Wrestlers planning to use piledrivers or similar moves must apply for written permission in advance. And anyone who distributes or takes an unprotected weapon shot to the head receives a large fine. Triple H and Undertaker were both fined for taking unprotected chair shots during their match at WrestleMania 28.
The issue of kicks to the head was first brought up earlier this year when CM Punk won numerous TV matches after standing kicks to an opponent's head. After Punk knocked out Jack Swagger, the WWE website ran an article asking if such moves should be banned. The article was quickly pulled when a large number of Ring of Honor and independent wrestlers backed the motive over social media.
While Orton was serving his suspension, fans repeatedly asked him to return and deliver a punt kick to the heads of various heels, particularly John Laurinitis. Orton revealed that he was now banned from performing the move. He would not reveal the details, but many have assumed that this was because Orton almost injured Cody Rhodes with the attack. Rhodes stated in an interview that Orton once kicked him in the face while he was wearing his protective mask. The mask was split, and Rhodes claimed that the safety gear protected him from a serious injury.
The debate was raised once more by Orton during his suspension. A fan asked him on twitter why the Punt kick was banned, but yet the Broski Boot by Zack Ryder was not. Orton then re-tweeted posts which claimed that the Punt kick was safer.
The new Saturday Night Slam Masters programme is aimed at even younger children than the rest of the WWE product. A press release for the show revealed that moves that attack the head and neck are heavily discouraged in this show. Kofi Kingston is due to be a big part of this show for the time being. He is not allowed to use his 'Trouble In Paradise' finisher, as this is a spinning kick to the head. But he relies on his SOS (a variation on the Russian Leg Sweep) or the BOOM leg drop to end matches.
