If you haven't tired yourself out from marking out over false hope, here is a small taste of genuine hope: one of the New Japan Four may actually be headed for WWE!

New Japan Pro Wrestling has confirmed that Shinsuke Nakamura will be finishing up with the company this month. Better than that, they have openly stated their belief that Nakamura is headed for the WWE. They have also released a video interview with Nakamura talking about the future.

It is important to warn you that Nakamura has NOT signed with the WWE. He legally can't until he has finished his obligations with NJPW. Any arrangement he has with the WWE is purely verbal for now. None of the four men have signed deals with the WWE yet, and this statement is the closest thing we have to any kind of confirmation.

The actual story was that Nakamura, A.J. Styles, Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows have all given their notice to NJPW. Within an hour of the news breaking, an internet rumour insisted that all four men had signed with the WWE, which is not true. But the rumours became so intense that even the WWE had to acknowledge them, but never once implied that any of them had signed deals. Legally, none of them could have due to their current arrangements with NJPW and Ring Of Honor. Fans desperate for the news to be true dismissed any legitimate sources that stated the facts as trying to swerve the fans.

Recent storylines at NJPW events hint that both Nakamura and A.J. Styles have been written out of the company. Nakamura still has a few more dates left to fulfill before he can sign with WWE. However, Styles is officially finished with NJPW and ROH. His representatives correctly explained that Styles did not sign a WWE deal yet. That said, Styles is the only one of the four men who can sign with WWE as of today.

There is no official word on Anderson or Gallows right now. It is known that the WWE were interested in Anderson before he signed with NJPW, although he was never offered anything. Gallows had been in the WWE with three failed gimmicks; Imposter Kane, Festus and Luke Gallows. He then garnered decent success as D.O.C., the first identified member of TNA Wrestling's Aces 'N' Eights stable. He then went on to have major success in the US and Japan as an early member of the Bullet Club.

Rumours that Nakamura is going straight unto the main roster should be treated as false for now. None of the four men have signed a contract, so there are no detailed plans for them. It doesn't matter how often Dave Meltzer changes his mind, he has been proven wrong twice on this already, and no signed contracts mean no confirmed contract details. Remember, Meltzer made a video last year promising that CM Punk was going to make his official return to the WWE at a live Raw in Chicago, Il, just before it went on the air.
