Very bad news for TNA

TNA Wrestling has had not 1, but FIVE pieces of bad news over the past week.

First of all, Chris Sabin is gone. This was confirmed by Nadimmania last week. Sabin had been in TNA wrestling for almost all of its existence. He is a former TNA World Heavyweight Champion who also holds the record for most TNA X-Division Championship wins.

Second, Daniels is gone. Daniels denied Internet rumours that he would be finishing up with the company soon. However, he was surprised when his contract expired last week, and TNA still haven’t planned contract negotiations. This means that they do not plan on making a new contract offer to Daniels. Daniels recently admitted that he was hurt that he heard the news online, and nobody confirmed it to him until it was official. Daniels’ release came as a bit of a shock to wrestling fans too, as his involvement was part of the TNA’s deal with Wrestle-1 in Japan.

Thirdly, Kazarian is gone. Kazarian is a guy that TNA had held a lot of faith in until recently. He received frequent pushes but never caught on with fans as a main-event player. His release does not mean that TNA have given up on him. Kazarian was being paid a lot, and was not willing to take a pay cut. TNA theorised that they can hire 2 rookies for the price of Kazarian.

Hernandez was recently released too. Hernandez is a TNA made talent who was once poised to be their big Mexican star. However, frequent injuries and poor ability at learning Spanish hurt this goal. Over the last few years, TNA felt that Hernandez hurt his look with too many tattoos, and did not look comfortable in singles matches. Hernandez had not been used in months and there were no plans for him to be brought back to television any time soon.

The final piece of bad news is possibly the worst. During the last set of tapings, the entire production crew threatened to quit. When TNA has had money troubles, they have been slow at paying wrestlers. Things have gotten so bad that they had fallen behind with paying the production crew as well. They gave management 24 hours to pay them; otherwise they would refuse to work the remaining tapings of the week. Management hastily wrote cheques to keep them happy.

TNA are still feeling the after effects of the Hogan-era. They lost much of their money over-paying the wrong people (including Hulk Hogan and his daughter Brooke), and overbooking arenas that were far bigger than they needed. Hogan has been gone for several months, but many of the stars that they have been pushing since then have proven to be very poor draws. The biggest example is Magnus, who has been TNA World Heavyweight Champion for several months. Magnus was the only person within the last 2 years to actually be offered a pay RISE with his contract. However, TNA has finally come to the realisation that he is not as over as they thought. He is to be repackaged in the hopes of making him a top attraction.

Similarly, TNA recently announced that James Storm, Gunner, Robbie E and Bram had all signed long-term deals with the company. Amazingly, the only one that generated any excitement was Robbie E, despite the fact that he had jobbed most of his matches since his debut. However, there is a feeling that Gunner and James Storm will get over with fans after their match at Sacrafice. TNA fans were not to bothered about Bram as many do not know who he is, and did not see him on WWE NXT.

For its early matches, production style and for its wrestlers, I adore TNA.

But when "the ENTIRE production crew threatened to quit" you might as well finally put the coffin in the grave rather then continue trying to make the skeleton dance like it's alive just to try to make money out of it.

And with...
"Daniels recently admitted that he was hurt that he heard the news online, and nobody confirmed it to him until it was official."

What little respect left I had for TNA as a business has gone out the window.

Even Styles is gone who was TNA's face in my opinion... even though they mishandled him at many points... This is Bad News for TNA... Good News for Jeff Jarrett... I can see him reviving the old TNA with his new promotion.

Styles leaving was already a bad sign but the other may really be the beginnning of the end.

Sabin, Kaz, Daniels and Hernandez were there for years and are part of the company's former success, it's sad to see them going away.

TNA's roster is really going to be the trashcan for wrestlers who couldn't make it or were released from WWE.

Hernandez leaving wasn't much of a surprise. He really isn't that good. A tag team, sure. Singles? Not really.

Sabin, Kaz and Daniels leaving is really sad. But to be honest, they are amazing, but in shitty storylines. Then again, I came to the conclusion that TNA's creative team has no idea what to do for a lot of people.

This is probably the worst the TNA roster has ever been in their entire existence. Like 4 knockouts.

TNA lost its sparkle when Dixieland went Hollywood and brought in hogan. She sucked his balls and didn't appreciate the talent she already had in her locker room. The talent is so thin these days it's just watching the same shot every week and dire story lines that last no more than a month and have very little meaning and appeal to the fans. TNA are going to have to make drastic changes in order to survive. Sadly I think the nail in the coffin is already in and the originals already knew it. GFW will only benefit from this and promotions like ROH. I love TNA buy my faith in the company has gone now. I rarely watch it.

I completely agree about Hogan coming in. I watched TNA on a regular basis from the moment Angle was signed to about 2 months after Hogan and Bischoff showed up. RVD, Jeff Hardy, Mr Anderson, etc all came in and I was excited, but the writing was so horrible I just couldn't watch it anymore. The whole Abyss ring storyline, Orlando Jordan doing weird shit with caution tape, and I'm sure there's a lot more my memory has forgotten. So yeah that was the point I abandoned TNA and I haven't looked back, even though my interest did get piqued a bit when Roode was the champ.

And I don't care how "great" he might be, I haven't watched it so I can't make an unbiased comment, but there is no way in hell I buy Bubba Ray Dudley as world champion material.

I'm trying to keep myself positive by not bringing bad news to others.

This is a bad year for TNA! I never wish on a company to fail. There are good people working for the company that don't deserve their jobs to be in peril. K, that's a bit dramatic, but I don't want the roster to be at the morale they are at right now. I personally don't like TNA, though. I liked TNA in 2003-2004, but I was 12 and 13 years old at the time. When I watch my tapes back now, I am not digging it at all even though some of the matches were good. I won't go through everything that's wrong with TNA in my opinion, but I will say... the fucking name is awful. Sweet Jesus I hate the name TNA. It's a big "fuck you" to the "knockouts." Don't expect a company named TNA to ever be a progressive company. I mean holy shit.

It's no secret that is why the company is called TNA. They had the initials before the name. The intention was to shock. Vince Russo loved the idea that their earlier shows would be on pay-per-view, because then they could do things that WWE, ECW, WCW and ROH could never do on a weekly basis.

If you want to translate that last part to "get the valets to strip down to their panties every week", you'd probably be right.
