Just finished Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology.
A lotta fun, a catchy story and pretty interesting. Got me into the Tales series.
K.
I'm Playing like five games at a time, right now. Let's list'em and have a small review on'em.
Drakengard 3: A mix of a hack and slash and a JRPG. It's violent, it's funny and it's really good. Has some framerate issues which is strange, considering it doesn't have realistic graphics. They're not ugly, but they're not extremely detailed, they have a cel-shaded anime feel to'em.
It's a nice game, it has some mid-gameplay dialogues that are fun to listen to. Most are your character (the chick with the silver-blonde hair i used to have as a signature and avatar) being a total bitch (in more than one way). She's promiscuous, bloodthirsty and mean as fuck.
I hear it has a great story behind all the crazyness of the characters and situations.
You have 4 weapon options according to my researches, yet I have unlocked just one, which leaves me at two.
It has some sidequests that you can do between missions for points and extra items.
Shadow of the Colossus: From the 2 pack with Ico for the PS3, I have only beaten two of the big guys and it's been a beautiful experience so far.
I'm playing along with my girlfriend so it's on hold due to holidays, lol.
The horse riding is fucking annoying, YET for some reason adds to the experience.
Tears to Tiara 2: More of a visual novel. I'm on the first part so I had just one portion of gameplay, and it was quite short. I don't get the gameplay just yet. I know it's a turn-based strategy RPG.
The strongest point of it is the story. I'm intrigued by the little I've seen so far.
The disc version comes with a small artbook and an old-school booklet (colored and with detailed gameplay info (which i haven't read yet))
AKIBA's TRIP: Undead and Undressed: The title sounds weird and yes, it is a weird game. I have none of the story figured out yet.
All I know is your character (which you have the option to have called a default japanese name or give him a name of your creation (I called him "Retard")) has been kidnapped by some sort of (new world) organization (of wrestling, brother) and they have turned him into some sort of zombie/vampire who is highly affected by sunlight, the only way to protect yourself from the evil sun are, of course clothes. If you're stripped of them, u ded.
This is the fun/weird part. You've been saved by a mysterious girl, who sets you free, she ends up going to your friends' "base" with you, and meets your "crew". Now, there's more people with that zombification/vampirization shit out there, and they're after you. The only way to defeat'em is stripping them of their clothes. Triangle weakens their headwear, circle (or square, i don't remember lol) weakens their shirt/jacket/whatever, and X weakens their lower clothing, after weakening them enough you can perform certain actions to strip those and leave'em exposed to sunlight. You have weapons available and clothes, which you can find, buy or strip from your enemies.
Yakuza 4: This game, is freaking awesome. It's some sort of Japanized GTA in some way, except you don't use vehicles at all, except for Taxis. I hear it's alike to Sleeping Dogs, but i've never played that so I can't tell.
I have only completed about two chapters but the game is quite deep.
You have hundreds and hundreds of sidequests and activities to complete along with the story. Karaoke, Restaurants, Pool, Pole Dancing places, Those places where you pay for company (not sex, just a fun chat with a girl (It's Japan, goddamit)) and a lot more i haven't discovered.
The battle system is really fun, there's different actions you can do with your surroundings and you can upgrade and improve your figting skills with every encounter.
There's also a lot of sidequests in the street and a lot of random conversations with people who guide you or hint what you can do in the city.
There's four characters in the game but I have only played with one, so far.
Totally looking forward to getting Yakuza 5, eventually.
I have games that i have yet to play like
Tales of Graces: After playing Tales of the World on the PSP i really wanted a Go with a game for the PS3, and this one really caught my attention.
Ni No Kuni: Written and designed by Studio Ghibly, of fucking course this will be a worthy experience. I am sure I'm gonna like this thing.
Yes, I have gone full Weaboo.
