Are you kidding me?? Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd stumble across a No Mercy forum that's still active! It's amazing what you can find when you Google your 17-year-old hacking username. :)

This game will never die, and I love it! Hats off to the people running this board for finding and organizing as much history as you have!

Any other "old guard" HC guys still around here? ;)

It's a pleasure to have you here! Just last night I saw your post at Hacker's Club and was going to make an account to invite you over. It's awesome to see hacking veterans here. Nothing but respect, man.

Pleasure to be here. Reading through all these old codes makes me wish I still had all the free time I had back then. It also makes me wish I had done a better job of backing up all my old work on this game and WM2K. :\

Keep up the good work, everyone!

Woah, that's a name I never expected to see attached to a new post... Welcome back, JeffHardyRules (of the KoK)!

Admins, throw this dude in "The Real".

Done. No clue why I didn't do that this morning when I saw him log on. I've copied and pasted SO MUCH of this guy's work over the years, it's awesome to have him stop by.

Thank you both for the warm welcome! Even though I'm not actively hacking anymore, this world will always hold a special place in my heart, and I'm gonna do my best to stop by here every now an then. Some of my best teenage days were spent in the HC forums, and I will never forget them...

Yep, you read that right...when I first started hacking WM2K, I was 13 years old. I never told anyone that back then because I didn't want to be written off as "just a kid" to the big dogs like goatman, Pelican, tokidoim, etc. Those 3 guys, and jred (can't forget him) were my inspiration to get into hacking when I did. I had just gotten dial-up Internet service at home and was playing WM2K religiously. I had also just bought a GameShark, and I decided to ask Jeeves for some codes for the game. A couple hours later (so, 2 or 3 websites later on dial-up) I stumbled upon a post by jred talking about some new addys tokidoim had found related to player animations. It instantly grabbed my attention, and I spent the next few hours messing around with them and figuring out how they worked and how to use the memory editor. About 5 or 6 hours later I made my first post, and the rest is history.

...ok, I'll stop there. Sorry for the autobiography excerpt, and sorry for the references some of the younger players have probably never heard of (i.e. "dial up" and "Ask Jeeves").

I wish (and hope) some of the old crew is still around or someday finds this forum too; I think they would enjoy going back and re-living some of those moments like I am right now. It would also be cool to get back in touch with some of them!

What's great about the majority of hacking work now is that we have utilities to take the edge, now. Anymore for the most part, you need only to find addys in the emu and the tools write the rest.

You can write muti spliced animation hacks with proper toki 2s AND player converted in no time. It's a life saver.

It's awesome to have someone with a familiar history of No Mercy hacking, hopefully with your help and others we can start charting down the history of this awesome past time.
