Hey.  Some of you know that for quite a while now I have been working on a new WWF No Mercy wiki.  I started the task in 2014, but stopped after a few months and picked it back up again a few months ago.  It is on it's way to becoming a full resource on all things related to WWF No Mercy and AKI-THQ Engine games in general, and thanks to the great features of Wikia/Fandom, it is really going to be awesome.  I am really passionate about it right now as you can probably tell.  So far I have been doing it all myself, but if you check it out you will see that it is really going to be cool and maybe want to contribute.  Wikis are easy for anyone to edit.

It will have interactive clickable image maps for championship mode, which you can see the beginnings of here:
http://wwfnomercy.wikia.com/wiki/Women's_Championship
although it will be improved very soon, as I am waiting for the Javascript features to be unlocked so that I will be able to edit the tooltips and get something along the lines of this:
http://pl.leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/League_of_Legends_Wiki
which is going to come in handy for championship mode and to catalog the roster, and more.

I have put together a table for the move lists of in-game characters, which is demonstrated here:
http://wwfnomercy.wikia.com/wiki/The_Rock

(Not only are we going to need to get all of the pages in for the WWF No Mercy Characters but also characters of the other AKI Engine games, and have them follow a uniformed standard much like the way a wikipedia article does and as outlined on The Rock's page, linked above although there is most definitely room for improvement to arrive on a settled uniform standard for the character pages.)

It is really starting to take shape, but I really need some help.  I need people who will make their own contributions, which can involve using your creativity and implementing your own ideas or just helping out to fill information in, copy and pasting from other resources like gsamefaq or wwe.com and citing the reference, which is simple but a little tedious, and absolutely needed.  So this is a call for help and a call to action!!!  Lets make this thing awesome!

Awesome!
Putting them up now. They look really amazing. You guys can feel free to make the edits and stuff yourselves though. This is not my project it's everyone's.
So i am not good with hacking the game yet, i was wondering could someone get the background that is used in "smackdown mall>Edit a superstar? Its the one thst is used on the profile/music, appearance page, etc, of a character? also any of the other backgrounds would be super helpful too. i dont know how to go about extracting stuff out of the game

Thats Perfect. Thanks. And thanks Fizanko.
Could you tell me how to extract the images out of the game myself? Or point me to a good tutorial? A lot of the info i have found seems to be outdated. I tried to install rice video plugin but im not having luck and its so frustrating. I just want to get better graphice out for the wiki. I even tried to use the "Hacking Starter Kit" posted by user Keson Columbus, but couldnt use it becase the zip file is not readable. :(

Thanks, Rain.
I am having zero luck being able to rip textures. It is very tiring, and the documentation on it is pretty lacking. Grrrrrrrr. Anyways i am going to focus on the other stuff to do on the wiki as there is tons to do and i have been bogged down for about 2 days trying to rip textures and i think i am getting sidetracked.
I really wanted to say thank you to Rain and Metzger. I notice that you have been making contributions on the wiki.

I would like to talk design a little bit right now. I have been working a bit on the Women's Championship page, as that is one with a smaller path, and i am trying to figure out the best way to make it look and what else as fat as info and content to include. From there we'll have a blueprint for the other titles.

I would love to hear what you think should be included. I was thinking to start with a paragraph intro that talks about the Women's division of 99/2000 leading up to when the game was released, and how the player's path as a new contender will take on the task of trying to dethrone Stephanie McMahon, who has cheated her way to winning the title thanks to HHH. I do not think that it is based off of the story path of any particular person from that time, but I would be interested to know.

From there I have created an image map showing the blocks of the title quest, and clicking them takes you to that particular chapter. I feel it's lacking however, and would be interested to know how you think I could improve upon the image map.

In addition, I think that it might be a good place to use the advanced tooltips, which allow wiki articles to show more info on hover, as described here: http://dev.wikia.com/wiki/Tooltips I am going to spend a little while today learning how to implement the advanced tooltips into the wikl, as I really think it will come in handy, not only possibly as part of the championship image maps but also definitively as a part of the roster. I am thinking that on the main page of the wiki will be a spot that looks like the superstar select screen, and hovering on a character's portrait should bring an advanced tool tip, and clicking will bring you to that character's article. So for the next couple of hours while I have some free time I will be trying to implement the tooltips.

Texture dumping is easy, just use Project 64 2.0 or higher. In the graphics plugins settings under advanced, select "dump textures", the textures in the area of the game you are in automatically dump. It's super simple.
Also, for championship mode, you could say what happens in each chapter, I've wanted that for years, now. It would be awesome.

Update: Got the tooltips installed, and it can be viewed by going to http://wwfnomercy.wikia.com/wiki/Superstars_1 and hovering over The Rock's portrait.
Keson Columbus, funny you should mention that because that is exactly what I am going for. It has been done before on gamefaqs, but those are old and just text. They are absolutely useful but I know it can be better. I have started with http://wwfnomercy.wikia.com/wiki/Women's_Championship as it's a shorter path. Still figuring out the design of it all, but you can see basically what will be included for content.

If I actually knew where each brach was, it would be believable to start hacking championship mode. It would make it a lot easier.

Got it. I am implementing it, as can be seen on Women's Championship, and in the meantime if this helps, here: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/n64/914112-wwf-no-mercy/faqs/11073

_________

What fonts would you guys say are closest to those used in the game? For instance the one used inside the chat bubbles in the cut scenes? I believe it is the same font used for much of the regular text of the game, that which isnt a header or something fancier. It is more of a monospace right? or is it a sans?
Hey. I had some time after work tonight to make some updates to the Women's Championship page. Let me know what you think of the layout. I only have a few chapters done. I would love to know what else should be featured in the championship pages, and also like to hear any design related suggestions or anything at all.
Hey everyone. If anyone wants to, I need a good intro paragraph on the Women's Championship page, somehting that talks about the womens division of the attitude era, particularly in the months leading up to WWF No Mercy, and how it is portrayed in the game.

Check it out and give me any suggestions if you want. I am going to be starting either the WWF Title or Light-Heavyweight next.

Thank you, Bluntfello! That really means a lot. I really hope to get some new contribs, though, there is a lot of busy work to do.

I don't know about that :) Also, any little bit counts. Articles need to be made for each character in the game, following the template of the ones already done like The Rock or Triple H or Austin. That would include a main infobox, the table with the moves, the attributes infobox, and text about them which could be written yourself or pasted from a source like wwe.com or wikipedia with the source cited. Each of the Championship pages need an intro paragraph. Also, if anyone wanted they could make pages talking about the mods that are out there. Also an article on each of the other big AKI Wrestling games. Those will be easy as there is so much info already out there that can just be copied and the info source cited. An article on WCW Revenge, for example, could be copied from the gaming wikia, almost verbatum, as long as every copied paragraph is cited, with a little bit of stuff added. Or just anything you feel like doing. If there is something that you think should be added go for it. This is a community driven project.
I will be getting to a lot of that as well, but right now i am focusing on a couple of things, mainly the interactive maps for the championship blocks, graphic tooltips for when a superstar's name or picture is hovered over, and the dialoge and some images for the cutscenes of each championship block on the title pages.
Or if anyone wants to shape this thing in their own image at all you can go for it.

If my schedule opens up I'd love to contribute. One thing I would be interesting in doing as far as an article would be comparing and contrasting the Japanese versions of these games compared to their American counterparts, so like looking at the differences between VPW64 and WCW vs NWO World Tour and VPW2 compared to WM2K and then discuss what each game has going for and against it that it's counterpart doesn't. An example would be looking at VPW2's ring introductions with voices vs WM2K's more traditional entrances with titantron and entrance music and stuff like that.
