The WWE writers have dropped the ball multiple times recently, botching FOUR current storylines.

As you should know by now, John Laurinaitis defeated John Cena in the main event of Over The Limit last Sunday.
The match ended with the return of Big Show. Big Show was fired by Laurinaitis on Raw last week (14th May). The unemployed Big Show returned at OTL (20th May) to help Laurinaitis beat Cena. Laurinatis revealed on this week's Raw (21st May) that he re-hired Big Show on Saturday (19th May).
But on the 14th, a pre-match stipulation was added, declaring that if ANY WWE employee interfered in the match, then they would be fired. Meaning that Big Show, who would have been a WWE employee, would be fired yet again.
Michael Cole and the WWE Twitter account have both later claimed that Big Show and Laurinaitis had a verbal agreement, but Big Show did not sign a contract until the morning after OTL. But Vince McMahon used to hire wrestlers under verbal agreements too, recognizing them as valid employees. So therefore, Big Show could have his contract resended.

As previously reported, Lilian Garcia botched 3 ring announcements during a recent SmackDown event. This was planned as part of a new story line. Garcia recently made a string of genuine blunders which were all highlighted on WWE.com, episodes of SmackDown and the WWE YouTube channel. The plan was to have Garcia intentionally mess up at live events, gaining more heat from her fellow announcers and broadcasters. She would then turn heel, blaming other people for her mistakes (like Mike Adamle from 2008).
But many people in the WWE were unaware of the story line, and ignored the whole thing. While the WWE hoped that various dirt sheet sites would report the incidents as real (and many did), the WWE failed to follow through on the story.

In recent weeks, Zack Ryder has been taken off Raw and placed on Superstars. And parts of his YouTube show 'Z! True Long Island Story' keep getting cut.
The story line is that John Laurinaitis' assistant Eve Torres is the one making these decisions. She is punishing Zack for showing her in a negative light earlier this year. While Ryder and Torres have been continuing the story on Twitter, writers keep forgetting to include the story on Raw, SmackDown or Superstars.

Recently, WWE has been marketing a viral campaign based on a forthcoming "revolution". But recent steps in the campaign have allegedly revealed "too much, too soon". So the story line has been put on hold.
Some speculate that the story line was to hype a new nWo-type stable, featuring former TNA stars. Matt Morgan appeared in one of these videos, which was not something that the WWE wanted to suggest so soon.
It is speculated that this new stable will begin with the tag team of Matt Morgan and Alex Shelley, with Ric Flair joining at a later date.
