The WWE website has posted a list of 8 facts about their short-lived, but extremely popular, Hardcore Championship. The most interesting thing about this is that the WWE now acknowledges facts that they previously denied.
1. Raven held the title 27 times.
2. The first Hardcore Championship match saw Mankind defend the title against Ken Shamrock.
3. Four women have held the title (Terri Runnels, Trish Stratus, Mighty Molly and Bobcat).
4. Bradshaw and Tommy Dreamer personalised the title belt to represent their home states. (Note: This was because the actual title belt had broken, and this allowed the WWE to cover the center-plate).
5. Pat Paterson was 59-years-old during his title reign.
6. The championship changed hands 10 times in one night at WrestleMania 2000.
7. The Hardcore Championship was unified with the Intercontinental Championship.
8. Big Boss Man held the title for 92 days. None of the 52 holders of the title managed to reach 100 days for a single reign.
