In order to promote the new WWE Network, the WWE has printed a list of the 15 worst falls in pro wrestling history.

15. During a hardcore match between Chainsaw Charlie (Terry Funk) and Cactus Jack (Mick Foley), the two brawled their way into a dumpster positioned on the stage. The New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg & Billy Gunn) then locked both men inside the dumpster, and pushed it off the side of the stage. The stunt set up the dumpster match between both teams at WrestleMania XIV.

14. Even the WWE website admits that the 2008 ‘Million Dollar Mania’ promotion was a complete failure. The simple concept involved Vince McMahon genuinely dividing $1,000,000 of his own money amongst six different viewers. However, McMahon had difficulty using the phone, reading contestant details and hearing responses. Also, McMahon didn’t realise that having the promotion every single week would cost him $1 million dollars every single week. So he ended the segments with an “attempted assassination” angle. McMahon suddenly fell through an opening in the stage, and then part of the metal scaffolding collapsed on him. McMahon disappeared from WWE television for 6 months, and was frankly uninterested in finding out who tried to kill him.

13. CM Punk defended his WWE Championship against both Alberto Del Rio and The Miz in a ladder match at TLC – Tables, Ladders and Chairs in 2011. At one point, all three men were knocked down and were barely moving. Del Rio’s personal ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez saw an opportunity to help his employer. Rodriguez climbed into the ring and went for the title belt himself. However, Punk and Miz tipped over the ladder to stop him. Rodriguez fell out of the ring and through a table on the concrete floor. While he is not the first to do this high spot, Rodriguez fell a lot harder than most people have. Even Mick Foley thought it was a rough fall.

12. The Road Warriors took on the Midnight Express in a scaffold match at the 1986 Starrcade. The Warriors’ manager Paul Ellering wanted some revenge on their rivals too, and hunted down the Express’ manager Jim Cornette. Cornette tried to escape Ellering by climbing up the scaffolding. When he found Hawk at the top, he tried to climb through a gap, and was left dangling above the ring. Cornette lost his grip and fell. His bodyguard Big Bubba Rogers (Big Bossman) tried to catch Cornette, but Cornette hit the ring too fast. He broke his ankle, and was knocked out when his head hit Rogers’ knee. When Cornette came round, his voice became comically high-pitched for a while.

11. For the WWE ECW One Night Stand 2005 pay-per-view, JBL recorded his own commentary as a bonus feature. He tried to remain in character throughout, criticising everything he could think of about ECW. However, Mike Awesome and Masato Tanaka put on such a good match that JBL couldn’t hide his own excitement. Awesome performed an Awesome that threw Tanaka over the top rope and through a table outside of the ring. Awesome then finished the match by performing a running splash over the top rope onto Tanaka.

10. Armageddon 2000 featured the first and last 6-way Hell In A Cell match. In the lead up to the match, they kept referring to Undertaker’s last appearance inside the roofed cage. He threw Mankind (Mick Foley) off the cell, and then later chokeslamed him through the roof. The falls made Foley a major star, and the WWE wanted to recreate the success for another superstar. The chosen personality was Rikishi. His match ended when Undertaker chokeslamed Rikishi off the cell and unto a truck below. The stunt was in vain as Rikishi went straight back to the mid-card before the New Year, and the match was described as “uneventful”.

9. WCW Slamboree 2000 was turned into a publicity stunt for WCW’s first (and last) major motion picture release ‘Ready To Rumble’. The main event was a triple-tiered cage match which featured in the movie. The first man to reach the top and grab the WCW World Heavyweight Championship belt would become the champion. And actor David Arquette was the defending champion going into the show. After Jeff Jarrett won, Jarrett and Mike Awesome continued to beat down DDP at the top of the highest cage. Chris Kanyon attempted to save DDP. But Awesome threw Kanyon off the top of the highest cage, and through the entrance ramp. After spending months recovering from the fall, Kanyon got revenge by aiding Awesome in his feud against DDP.

8. The Undertaker had the same fall as Ricardo Rodriquez did in #13, but he had more tables to cushion the fall. This happened earlier at Extreme Rules 2008.

7. Many of Tommy Dreamer’s ECW matches saw him brawling throughout the arena with his opponent. On May 17th, 1997, his opponent was Louie Spicolli. Fans were already calling it the “match of the night” before Spicolli threw Dreamer down an entire section of bleachers.

6. In 2003, the WWE aimed to make La Resistance a major heel stable. But Sylvain Grenier did not mesh well with the inexperienced Rene Dupree. The WWE thought they had solved the problem by adding the talented Robert Conway to the group. But then Grenier and Dupree showed just how poor they were in the ring. The trio were due to squash all three Dudley Boyz in a tables match at the Unforgiven pay-per-view. To demonstrate their “viciousness”, Grenier and Dupree targeted Spike Dudley. Grenier and Dupree lifted him and performed a spinebuster over the top rope, aiming for the table outside of the ring. However, Spike missed the table, with the back of his head crashing through the edge of it. Realising that Spike was hurt, they repeated the stunt with D-Von Dudley, BEFORE Spike could be moved out of the way. La Resistance lost the tag team titles and their push that weekend.

5. The Shield had their first match at TLC – Tables, Ladders and Chairs in 2012. Their debut was against Ryback, Kane and Daniel Bryan in a match in which the use of ladders, chairs and tables were all allowed. Reigns and Ambrose set Ryback out on a table near the entrance way, and left Rollins to do a 450 splash onto their victim. But Ryback recovered very quickly and chased Rollins up the ladder. Ryback then casually tossed Rollins through some poorly stacked tables on top of an exposed concrete floor.

4. You knew that ECW’s scaffold match between Tommy Dreamer and Brian Lee would be on this list. The scaffolding above the ring was built by the Sandman, and it swayed every single time either man did anything, including taking a step. The ring below was completely covered in stacked tables. Either man could have fallen and taken a serious injury at any second. To make matters worse, the building manager later pointed out that a cable that Lee hit Dreamer with was actually a live wire. Lee took the spill through three tables to give Dreamer the win.

3. Shane McMahon became famous for his dives from scaffolding. But his first will probably be remembered as the greatest. McMahon was defending the Hardcore Championship against Steve Blackman at SummerSlam 2000. In a bid to escape Blackman, McMahon climbed a scaffolding near the entrance way. The plan didn’t work as Blackman caught him. Blackman kept hitting McMahon with a kendo stick until McMahon fell through the staging below. This was a fall of 70-feet by a barely trained wrestler.

2. The sickest fall on the list, because it nearly resulted in someone’s death. At ECW Living Dangerously 2000, New Jack was supposed to throw Vic Grimes off a 15-foot balcony and onto the tables below. Then he would follow up with a diving headbutt. But whatever happened, New Jack fell first, and dragged the 300-pound Grimes after himself. They both hit the tables and bounced off onto the concrete floor below. Grimes landed on New Jack’s head, splitting his skull on the floor. New Jack was left permanently blinded in one eye. Two years later, the pair would have a scaffold match in another company which ended with Grimes almost getting killed in a fall. To this day, people are not sure if the second fall was a work, or if New Jack was genuinely trying to hurt Grimes. But then again, New Jack once literally stabbed an opponent in the ring because he was working too stiff with him.

1. The infamous Hell In A Cell match in which Undertaker threw Mankind (Mick Foley) off the cell, and then chokeslamed him through it. Foley landed awkwardly after the first fall and dislocated his shoulder. With the second fall, a steel chair fell from the cell roof and struck Foley in the face after he hit the ring. The blow knocked one of Foley’s teeth into his nose. Foley insisted on finishing the match, even though he was barely physically able to stand. To this day, Foley has no recollection of anyone else getting into the ring after his second fall, even though several people and the Undertaker climbed into the ring to check on him.

Yeah. Jessica Morasca selling a clothesline from Sharmell. TNA matches are normally left off wwe.com lists.

I don't know if Ryback's fall from possible main eventer to Miz's personal bitch in 3 months should be #1. But it's a personal #1 for me.
