The internet went wild last night after a false report insisted that 4 major indy stars had signed with the WWE. So much so, that the WWE had to release a statement about the rumours.

We will begin with the only part that is actually true. A.J. Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows have all given their notice to NJPW. Within the same hour that the news broke, false reports emerged that all 4 men had signed contracts with WWE. With hundreds of websites posting the news as true, Dave Meltzer even went so far as to give details on the non-existent deals. However, the none of them were able to quote a reputable source. PWI were the only ones who found anybody close to the situation, and they confirmed that there are no WWE deals signed as of right now. The WWE article only acknowledges the rumours and nothing more.

It is not known why these men have asked to end their arrangements with NJPW. Some of them are currently champions that will need to lose or vacate their titles before they joined the WWE anyway. All of the men will be required to fulfill all of their current obligations to NJPW and Ring Of Honor first. Even if NJPW released them immediately, they would have to still wait one extra day before they can sign anything. It is known that Styles has been granted his release from RoH, so he is officially a free agent once he is done with NJPW.

Rumours have indicated that the WWE had been interested in Styles and Anderson before, but no word on if anything serious was suggested.

Styles had a televised tryout match with the WWE before he joined TNA Wrestling. Gallows previously competed in the WWE as Imposter Kane, Festus and Luke Gallows.

UPDATE: A.J. Styles' own agent has confirmed that A.J. has NOT signed any contracts with WWE. Official social media accounts relating to A.J. have been sharing and re-tweeting links that are reporting this denial.

I reckon they will purely because they are getting older, and the WWE's main roster is the last place to make some real money. Also, two of them have said before that their kids have always wanted to see them in WWE. Lifelong royalties couldn't hurt.

That makes more sense. But I honestly don't see the WWE using them properly, despite the good ideas they've come up with lately, they always find a way to fuck up.

They confirmed that the rumours existed. I mentioned that before.

Dude, Nakamura and AJ both ate it tonight at NJPW's show. They were written off.

Well obviously they're gonna deny signing with WWE. They don't want to spoil anything. It's like whenever Chris Jericho is asked to confirm rumours about his return to WWE, he ALWAYS denies them but they end up being true. Another example, James Storm denied he would be appearing in NXT, yet he debuted there. The wrestlers and agents denying the rumours are probably full of shit.

Here's a dream scenario for the Rumble, that is if they did sign for the WWE.

Finn Bálor enters the Rumble at number 1 (The demon entrance needs to happen), and the crowd pops loud. The crowd waits for number 2. Lillian announces "The participant that drew number 2...". There's a delay, and then Demi Gods hits and the crowd goes crazy, and out comes AJ Styles. AJ enters and locks eyes with Finn. They both are in the ring, the bell rings and the crowd just chants "This is awesome". Both have a staredown and then look around. They lock up and go back and forth for a minute whilst the crowd continue to chant. After a while Finn does the gun motion after getting a slight upper hand. The timer starts to count down. The timer hits 0 and all you hear is "Bullet Club...". The crowd goes nuts again and out come both Anderson and Gallows. AJ looks around and sees them both walking to the ring. He looks back at Bálor and sees him smile. Bálor points the gun and in come both Anderson and Gallows. AJ looks in disbelief and anger and he goes to attack Anderson and Gallows. Finn attacks AJ and they all gang up on him. Referees enter the ring to try and get either Anderson or Gallows to the back. The timer begins to countdown and then reaches 0. Out comes Samoa Joe for the save. Crowd goes nuts again as Joe helps AJ and they neutralise the Bullet Club.

Bit of a read, but that's my ideal scenario for the Rumble before they screw it up with Roman Reigns winning the Rumble again.

That'd be great bit I don't think they'll reckon the Bullet Club on TV, lol

Why wouldn't they? They made a "Bálor Club" shirt. If they were worried about copyright issues they wouldn't produce a shirt that's clearly a nod to the Bullet Club. I wouldn't be surprised if they capitalized on Bullet Clubs popularity.

guys guys....

look at the facts and remember history...

i feel so confident something like this will happen:

1. Its Royal Rumble with the title on the line! think about it... if it was real wrestlers from all around the world would be entering the rumble to try and win the title, every rumble has surprise 1 off entrants
2. Their deals do not have to be contracts but 10 or so appearances...
3. WrestleMania is just around the corner!
4. It could be a good segway for Bálor to come up to main roster with some buddies... I doubt the BULLET CLUB brand will make it as Bálor CLUB and BOSS CLUB or whatevs exist...
5. Finally... AJ may just be taking a break... but he will return to NJPW eventually to even things up with Kenny Omega.

In Australia we can gamble/bet on the Rumble, I will update with the odds soon!
