- As previously reported, a number of RAW superstars have been working SmackDown shows. But now the WWE is considering moving CM Punk permanently to the blue brand for the next several months.
After the recent suspension of Randy Orton, WWE Management felt that the entire brand was lacking in star power. But now they are wondering if Orton really was such a large draw on the brand. So a big name from Raw could be moved to Smackdown pretty soon.
Don't read too much into this story. CM Punk is currently the WWE Champion and official title holder on RAW. This is not a sign that he is about to lose the championship. Nor is it a sign that someone will be taking the World Title (held by Sheamus) anywhere else. It should be noted that the main title holders and challengers are ALL booked for SmackDown events into the foreseeable future. And it should be noted the Raw stars have been competing for the SmackDown World Title, and SmackDown stars competing for the WWE title more often lately.
- The FCW Website has removed Eli Cottonwood from their website. In most instances, when FCW removes a star from their website, the star confirms their release a few days later on social networking websites.
Cottonwood first appeared on the second season of NXT, where he was the second person eliminated after Titus O'Neal. It is possible that Cottonwood will be totally repackaged. Husky Harris was removed from the FCW website, but would later come back as Bray Walker. But Cottonwood is not expected back.
Since leaving NXT, Cottonwood has been a bodyguard to stars in FCW including Walker. Cottonwood is best remembered for cutting an awful promo on NXT about mustaches. Despite telling the audience that he didn't have one (twice), the mustache wearing giant still insisted that his was the best of all the NXT contestants.
