Let's think about this one.
* They debut him on the ECW roster, during a time in which Mark Henry was literally the only guy to have ever been in a PPV main event (once).
* He becomes the number one contender to the WWE championship, having yet to feature in a single story line.
* He establishes himself by ending the career Jamie Noble (a cruiserweight who has been enhancement talent for most of his two WWE runs).
* He wins the title by beating Cena in a tables match... after outside interference.
* He has a rubbish 2 months as champion in which most of his matches ended in DQ. And most are against Orton.
* He loses the WWE Championship back to Cena, but his role in the match is overshadowed by Batista, who was not in the match.
* He jobs to Triple H at WM 26.
* He "injures" Triple H in a rushed story line.
* He "injures" Sin Cara (a cruiserweight who was in his first few months on the WWE roster).
* The story line in which he injured Cara is over-written by WWE revealing Cara's genuine suspension.
* Sheamus beats Cena, Orton and Edge to win the title... with outside interference from the entire Nexus.
* He spends 2 months as champion where most of his matches end in DQ, and are mainly against Orton.
* His ONE clean victory was an 8 second match against Zack Ryder, another cruiserweight enhancement talent.
* He loses the title to Orton, but the feud between Wade Barrett and John Cena overshadows his involvement in the match.
* He feuds with mid-carders John Morrison and Santino Marella, losing most of the time.
* He wins the King of the Ring in just 2 matches instead of 3, meaning that Morrison had an extra handicap.
* The new king jobs to Morrison.
* The new king literally runs away from opponents for the next few months.
* Like all KOTRs, he jobs to Triple H... on television.
* He wins the US title in very low profile match against Daniel Bryan.
* His WM 27 match is bumped off the card onto the pre-show. And then it is thrown out after 2 minutes.
* He loses the US title to the much smaller Kofi Kingston in a tables match.
* After several months of not doing anything important, he jobs to Mark Henry (who is not a main eventer yet).
* Despite having 3 finishing moves (later having 5), he only has one that seems to work; a bicycle kick.
* He starts winning more matches by taking on a more brawling style, using his feet and forearms primarily.
* He wins the Royal Rumble, and does nothing significant before WrestleMania 28. Meanwhile, the World Champion is buried repeatedly, nearly taking a PPV loss to enhancement talent Santino Marella.
* His WM28 match lasts 18 seconds.
* For the next several months, the majority of his matches are against Daniel Bryan and Alberto Del Rio. On most occasions, it is Orton picking up the win in a tag team match.
And they don't understand why Sheamus isn't over?
