You might have project64 still running when you start up, check your task-manager, and stop all instances of it. Try again and it should work.

Thanks for your reply Keson.

So far, I've tried:

-Deleting the .FLA save file
-Closing the application in Task Manager
-Deleting the entire game and associated files, and re-extracting the files in a new folder

Have any other suggestions?

Thanks again,

The ''Failed to open Flashram'' is like Keson said, you probably had 2 instances of Project64 running.

As for the other issue, it looks like you might have the infamous "No Mercy Save Game Bug".
If so, here is a way of fixing it. I don't remember who first posted this solution, but it has worked for me on the few occasions that I experienced this glitch: -

Always keep regular backups of your Save Game .fla file.

1. Make a savestate in Smackdown Mall (F5).

2. Delete your .fla file.

3. Close Project64.

4. Start Project64.

5. Load No Mercy.

6. Go to Smackdown Mall "Edit A Superstar" section. The default game will be running.

7. Load the savestate (F7).

8. Edit a few guys and save them (just a couple of names or faces for example).

9. Exit Smackdown Mall and return to the Main Menu.

10. Close Project64.

11. Start Project64.

12. Load No Mercy (the Save Game Bug should now have been corrected).

Now replace the .fla file with your last working Save Game backup and restart the game. In this case, use the Legends 2.0 .fla file that came with the download.

Hope this helps. If not, you must be experiencing a different problem.
:B-)

Orson,

Thanks for taking the time. I've been away from the forum for a while now and just saw your reply. Let me go and try that out.

I will let you know if it works.
