You might as well add the new Randy Savage.

Just delete the old Savage textures folder and put the new one in its place.
As long as you have replaced the cheat and save files with the updated ones.

However, if you're getting errors, this could get way more confusing.

I am starting to collect Error Messages and cumulating solutions on how to fix them.

Here is what I have for Buffer Overrun: -

_________________________________________________________________________

Buffer overrun detected!

Program: ..... [Path to your Project64.exe]

A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the
program's internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution
and must
now be terminated.

_________________________________________________________________________

This could be either your system / graphics card struggling to cope with
Rice Plugin and the amount of textures being used.

Or the path to your Project 64 is too long, causing a memory issue.

You can try one of the following, which might or might not help: -

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Shorten the path to your hi-res_textures folder.
For example if your hi-res_texture folder is located at:
C:\\Program Files\Emulators\N64\Mods\WWF Legends\Project 64\Plugin\hires_texture\WWF No Mercy

Shorten it to something like:
C:\\Program Files\Project 64\Plugin\hires_texture\WWF No Mercy

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Try switching to a different version of Rice Plugin
Note: some of the larger textures will not work using earlier versions.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Under Configure Graphics Plugin / General Options, try switching
Render Engine between DirectX and OpenGL.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Under your preferred configuration tab (Direct X or OpenGL),
select a different combiner type.
Try something more basic like "For Low End Video Cards".

Also try switching the "Depth Buffer Type" to a lower setting.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Under the "Texture Enhancement" Tab,
adjust "Texture Enhancement" to something more basic.
Perhaps also "Enhancement Control" to something more basic.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Thanks Orson, I will save these. It seems to be working if I use Windows XP SP3.

Is there a clear guide to which buttons are best to assign to an Xbox 360 controller? (Quite sadly I still have my N64 and controllers but I couldn't find a USB adaptor online). I don't seem to be able to do taunts or pins, which is great if I want to win every match by submission! LOL

(Is the new Savage in the folders I have or do I need to download it from somwhere?)

My mate is going to be super excited - we hammered these games in the late 90s! :) And I couldn't have got anywhere near this point without your help!

The controller will be something you will have to figure out yourself.
I use a USB N64 Controller (quite cheap on eBay).

As for Macho Man, I'm thinking you should leave him for a bit until you are used to playing the mod.
There is a Placeholders thread at the AKI Live forum where I identified a glitch and updated him accordingly, but it involves updating textures, the save and the cheat file again.

If you feel confident, then go ahead.

I managed to copy the buttons by sticking my N64 controller in front and working it out! (Kinda!)

Thank you again!

ETA: I just bought a gaming PC 2 months ago so it should be able to handle it?

(In terms of music, is it only the main theme I can change? - I promise I will stop asking things shortly)

You can change any music you want.
As long as you name the mp3 as the Music Tool shows, it can be anything you want.

(Sorry :( Is there something I need to enable to get the commentary working?)

Only the Music tool. As long as you have this working and playing the entrance themes, the commentaries should play also.

The theme and commentary mp3s should already be named correctly.

Hmm, I think I am doing something wrong, I have put the commentaries and music into the Music folder, in NMthing. I tick the NM Roster thing to Enable Music Mod (not ticking ring out cage and friendly fire) - is there something obvious I am missing? Double checked folders after the other day's fun and games

You checked the Help folder on how to set it up right? The offset etc.

Ah that's where I was going wrong, I thought the instructions were for if I was changing music, like putting new stuff in and replacing what was already there. I thought the default stuff would work if I didn't change anything, sorry.

Do I need to change the offset value for every audio file that's in the music folder?

EDIT: I've changed the main value but still haven't got the commentary after a few resets. Re-did it all twice to prove. The only possible bit (apart from altering the sound on every file) is the cheat codes being enabled but it seems to say that's done automatically in the guidance?

My music is in WWF Legends 2.1 - Base Game\Project64 1.6\NMThing\Music - does it need to be the level above? (NMThing)

I am legit sorry for all the asks :(

The instructions are how to get the Music Tool working with Project 64.
The mps don't need anything doing to them at all. They are all named correctly, they just need putting in the "Music" folder, which you seem to have done.

The instructions can also be found here as well as the Help Folder: -

http://nextwave-64.online/forum/showthread.php?tid=72

The diagrams show exactly how to get it working.

Nope, still nothing, just tried for a fourth time. I am sure everything is in the right folders now. I have made sure the NMThing is enabled. I have done all the offset as per the folder instructions and also with the post you have just made. Nothing. :(

It's not giving me an error message or anything just not working. All cheats enabled btw

Does the tool read "Offset Correct" in red?

If not, what was the offset you got from Cheat Engine?

(Again really sorry for bothering you will all this)

Where should it say offset correct?

The value is 18DD96FA (which is odd maybe) as I have had three different values for that?
(Just tried 4 more times :( )

In the Help Folder -

"Music Tool Part 2 - Finding Your Offset" shows you how to find the offset correctly. Read carefully the part that says the number will end in 9AD4.

"Music Tool Part 5 - Renaming Your Mp3s" highlights in bright green where the tool shows "Offset Correct". If it shows "Wrong Offset" or sticks on "Loading Roster", you have done something wrong.

I don't know if it helps, but I start the NM bit before loading the game up. It says "Current music" and then changes to 0x5260?

For the Music Tool to work successfully, make sure you activate Project 64 first,
followed by the Music Tool.

The tool will need a few seconds after the game has reached the Start Screen to
discover the offset.

Nope, nothing again - followed it to the letter, gave it 2 mins before starting tool, it did say loading roster in red at the top of that window, left it some more and then ticked music - and then got the usual code again. I can't think what else to do? The music is definitely in the Music folder in NMThing - there's no subfolders from that

It's nothing to do with the mp3s. The Tool works regardless of if there are any mp3s in the Music folder or not.

If it's stuck on "Loading Roster", you've done something wrong.

Does the offset you got using Cheat Engine end in 9AD4?

Yup every time as per the guidance - weirdly that's the one thing I've not messed up on! It usually appears near the bottom
