Thank you guys for the positive feedback on what I've been doing. Let's me know that the time I've spent on this is worth it. I'm still a newbie around here (was a longtime lurker/downloader, this is my first time actually working on something like this) and the way that you guys have allowed me to just jump right in and be a part of things is absolutely amazing.


As for the backgrounds, I hadn't given them a ton of thought yet. I have zero experience with coding/hacking the game, so changing the table and chair beyond anything but the table and chair are beyond my capabilities. As for the other backgrounds, I'll get to them at some point, but my focus right now is the text textures, the other stuff will come later.

Concerning formulas for alternate attires: I had every intention of having one for every wrestler.

There was just too much work to do. So yeah..... my fault 100%. I got overwhelmed.

A new background is completely possible for the main menu. We can completely get rid of the locker room background. Let me know if you want the codes for it.

One thing I wish we had was a guide for some of the alternate attires that guys have, like CM Punk and his multiple attires. I can't find a text file or anything that tells you "for this attire use this attire combo" for those guys. They're obviously named and textured properly, they're in the folders, I'd love to be able to just look up how to get the attires I want using the combos already in the game.

TJ, I was asking other people the same thing. I was trying to get CM punks Light blue attire, I found the Shoes and knee pads but not the trunks. I also found his blackhawks black, red and yellow trunks but not the matching knee pads. I was told to just do a manual dump.

I know that's always an option, but I was thinking more of a universal guide for everyone to use without having to go through that, because not everyone can.

I know, not complaining. I was just curious if there was a text document with the formulas. For the most part its been pretty successful just scrolling through the attires in the smackdown mall looking for what you want.

Alt attires are usually pretty easy to find for me. usually its the same trunks/kneepads, just with a different color combo, remember you have to check the 3 different lightings for each color

Both are getting makeovers... at least that's the plan. I've actually turned off the menu stretch codes and such so that I can try to make it all look good without having to disable/hide anything.

King of the Ring is coming along...

The one thing I could see giving me trouble is the background. Lining it all up properly is going to be a pain since there are actually an odd number (37) of textures involved. Hard to figure out a nice even grid with such a weird number!

Every time I come back to this topic I find something new & innovative being worked on. It never ceases to amaze me just what everyone working on this project is capable of, things that we never even dreamed of 10 years ago. Unlimited size roster? Done. Brand new game mechanics? On the way. Arena-specific wrestlers? No problem. This has become less about making a No Mercy save project & more about creating a completely new wrestling game experience that will remain fun to play for years to come. I'm not wearing a hat but if I was I'd have taken it off for you gents. Eager to see what developments you come up with next

Follow up to my last post:

I did notice the mis-aligned "N" before I uploaded that pic, I just didn't have time to fire the game back up and take a new screen shot.

I think I have an idea figured out for the background of the tournament mode, so that's getting closer to being finished. After that, it's the "Pay Per View" mode, which I am re-naming SUPERCARD, as evidenced by the main menu screen posted earlier in the thread.

I'm also doing an all new Superstar Select screen, again with the idea of using all the space in order to avoid menu stretching codes and whatnot. I'm aiming for a good looking, nearly complete retexture of most of the original menus.

This interface project has me VERY excited.

Edit: This is a quick code I wrote, but it's compatible with all versions of Showdown. It gives Ricky Steamboat a monkey flip as a running grapple when he is outside the ring, to make his moveset a tad bit more true to his real life in ring style.

I was working on an idea for the background for Supercard mode, but it didn't translate well when I put it in the game, so back to square one there. May work on the new superstar select screen instead and come back to it.
