The commentary does not actually come with the mod. If you still need a YouTube video on how to get it working, this video will help you.
Even though the tutorial is for setting up the WWF 'New Generation' mod, it will be pretty much the same steps to get it working with the Showdown 64 mod.

I have finally finished version 2 of the weapon system for Showdown. I ended up rewriting a large portion of the original code and I added a few new things too. First of all, I updated the weapon probability codes to work with all of the arenas in Wolfpac_69's 30 arenas project. This allows players to only find weapons like a chair, championship, or ring bell while playing in a modern day WWE arena and at the same time find weapons like a barbed wire 2x4, thumbtacks, or a beer bottle in an ECW arena. Next, I was able to update the arena specific weapon graphics for the new arenas. So, there are now 13 championship belt designs, 5 chair colors, and 5 ladder variations. I also, wrote a few codes that allowed for certain weapons to only activate if a specific wrestler is in the match (Jeff Jarrett and Al Snow). Last, I was able to get the amount of different weapons that could be found in the game up to 22. The new weapons included are a cinder block and a breakable light tube. All that I still need to do before the next release is finish up the new match type menu and add a few more small details. Hopefully, it will be ready sometime over the summer.

In additional news, I finally finished the very tedious task of converting all of the 261 wrestlers' head textures to work with Flashman's non-mirrored head texture ROM.

Found this mod about a week ago, I love the possibilities. I am getting started on doing some mods myself.
My best one so far is The Warlord. Are you guys still working on the mod as far as updates.

Hey there, I'm super new to the modding scene for wrestling games, but I just came across this mod today and I HAD to make an account and just say THANK YOU!! To whomever was/is/will be working on this mod! Words truly can't do it justice, at first I thought this was just a texture pack or something, but the fact that you guys actually modded moves, arenas, etc.... unbelievable! You can truly feel the hard work and effort put into this, I still can't get over the fact that I can have a true match between Hayabusa and Jushin Liger on WWF No Mercy.... Okay I'm done, sorry I just HAD to gush for a bit, each and every person that has worked on this is AWESOME!

(p.s. just in case someone else had this problem; I first tried this mod with pj64 1.7 and had a problem where some guys like Hayabusa and RVD didn't have the right moves, but after setting it up on a clean install of 2.1 it all cleared up... such an awesome Phoenix Splash!) HAVE A NICE DAY! :)

Thanks! We are still working on getting a few more guys into the game but we are quickly nearing the roster limit. Once we reach the limit, adding more guys would become a lot harder.

I got the 5.5 Beta and was wondering if there is a way to know to the formulas for the extra attires included in the textures folder.

If the other attires come with an .mpk file or a formula text file, then you can use that. If not, then you can just dump new textures and rename the attires that you want to use instead.

Hate to be a bother again. Sorry, just getting back into all of this. I saw see how the Hogan mod works now. How do I trigger the Undisputed/Current Hogan attire?

MVKronus: The current Hogan attire is triggered by playing with him in the WWE Raw arena.

PsychoCrusher: Steve Corino is one of the guys that I was eventually going to make in order to expand the ECW roster. However, I don't think that Ultramantis Black will be included due to the limited number of remaining roster slots.

Now that I have gone back and counted how many roster slots are left, I can see that there might be enough space to add him too if I can find a place to stick him that makes sense. Right now, I am trying to fill each of the 4 attire slots with separate wrestlers. Other than all of the ones that I am in the process of making right now, I still have a little less than 20 undecided slots. When I eventually run out of roster slots and if I feel up to the challenge, I could try implementing your ideas for creating additional attire slots.

When I go to wrestler select screen, the skins are displayed wierd like Goldberg having a bandage for a top.
What can I do to make the wrestlers look like themselves?

hulkster: There is a hack that can be used to create an unlimited sized roster found here http://s4.zetaboards.com/Old_Skool_Reunion?topic=10352648/1/ made by S.K. Stylez. However, all of that code is just for one small attire color change. I would need to use codes longer than that over and over again in order to create multiple new people.

Unfortunately using this code you cannot change polys, but just textures
