Heck Im just pumped to actually see the wrestlers on the ropes and moving. Thats enough for me. :yes:

With this, the first version might have the "side cage climbing" as the way to get to the middle.

I really want to try the animation where a player swings something over their head -- bat, kendo stick, etc -- and lock the hands in that position to move along the ropes.

There is already a minor glitch in the scaffold climbing. It is literally 1/10 of a second where the player is maybe 2 meters away from the scaffold. I'm just going to live with it for now. It took about 20 "Pause Game"'s on Limit FPS just to get that screencap, so it's pretty minor.

1/10 is nothing to worry about at all Blitz man. This is really gathering speed..

I really like the idea of the "Swing" animation ie kendo etc.. I think that would work well..

You have all the bases in place, and love your work ethic. Top stuff! :)

Yes this is one very popular topic, Blitz you're like a hacking legend already, I'm pleased with how far the progress has gotten. The attention is well deserved.

Good point CBV bud..

I think a topic in the public section where a few previews of Blitz's hacking projects are shown (If Blitz was ok with that) ;) with a link to the main topic would draw more attention and bring members into the OSR and will allow them to learn and take a interest in hacking, something I still trully love more over modding. :)

I'm glad you finally decided to get around and finish this, as its really my favorite toy out of everything you've ever made. You started it what...like 4-5 years ago? Time to crack that whip.

Had an idea for the climbing,

Replace the initial cage climbing with a double ax handle. Followed by a overhead weapon swing to replace the side cage climbing. So in theory, P1 will have both hands on the rope and when he moves, it will give a little hand/leg movement as he slides on the rope. If this concept fails, then there is always the default climbing which already works. :)

This modification looks amazing, Blitz! (My favourite NFL game, by the way :p)
I had seen a Gameshark code for just the structure of the Ultimate X, with just the scaffolds on the side and thin black ropes connecting to make the X in the middle, but you couldn't climb the structures or anything. This looks incredible and keep up the great job!

I don't know if anyone has suggested it in this thread, but is it possible to modify the briefcase to change it to the X (I think the X is red, but I do not remember). That would be a cool added touch :)

Thanks for the poll deletion. Couldn't find a way to get rid of them.


Think it's going to have to be side cage climbing for now. The ax handle idea keeps morphing into different heights.

Thats a bummer man! Well whatever you can do Blitz. I guess the more messing with codes and such, you may find a soloution.

The download is a beta code for the Ultimate X. It's only shared to allow users to see how the climbing works.

Climbing Guide :

-- To Climb The Scaffold --
Only the lower right scaffold is coded at the moment!

Approach the left side of the scaffold.
Press Up+Right + Up C (like you are climbing a ladder).

Climb with Up on the D-Pad (like climbing the ladder).
Once you get the top, you can press up to reach.
Or -- You can press and old Left + Up on the D-Pad until the player is on the rope.

To move along the rope to the center, press Left D-Pad. The player should move (5 times) towards the center.

Once in the center, you can press up to grab the briefcase.

Once again, this is the BETA just to let people test out the climbing. Height mods will be in place for the Briefcase. There will also be stoppers on the code to keep you from "climbing down". The reason I decided to go with the Cage climbing is because you can kick your opponent from the rope... or drop the elbow. It also counts down the animation for how long you can be up there. Too long, and you'll fall.

I believe this is the first time I've seen the X structure above the ropes, completely forgot about that. Great work Blitz.
