I do not know how to write this article without making it sound like the main roster are jealous of the NXT rookies. But I will give it a try.

It appears that many people on the main roster are unhappy with the NXT roster. This comes after the NXT R-Evolution show this week received rave reviews. The general feeling is that the developmental brand is receiving far too much praise. The main roster believes that they are the ones generating money for the company, and not NXT. They don't consider the NXT talent to be any better than they are. However, they claim that NXT only puts on better matches because the rookies get better opportunities.

The NXT brand was developed as a protective way of recreating the territories. In the past, wrestlers could build a reputation for themselves in different regions before being signed to the WWE. Then when they debuted, they would already be established stars with experience. At the same time, the WWE contradicts this by insisting on creating their own stars who do not have reputations outside of the company. NXT gives the wrestlers in developmental television exposure as they train. NXT was not designed to make money but to build new talents. Due to the way that it is run, it is hard for NXT to turn a profit.

One of the reasons why the main roster is struggling is because of they way they fail to build new talent. When up and coming talents start building momentum, Vince McMahon has a habit of stopping their push suddenly (e.g. Cesaro). Or that momentum is used to put over established talents who aren't drawing, like how the Wyatt Family had to put over John Cena earlier this year. It should also be noted that neither the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, nor the current champion Brock Lesnar, have been seen on WWE programming since Night of Champions in September.

In the build up to this year's Hell In A Cell, the main event was initially advertised as being Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins vs John Cena in a HIAC match. Ticket sales and buy rates increased when it was changed to Ambrose vs Rollins. But then they almost stopped completely when this match was replaced with Orton vs Cena. When Ambrose vs Rollins was made the main event again, sales resumed. This is further proof that Cena and Orton have not been big draws in the WWE for some time.

So what are they going to do?
Put on better matches?
Talk to management that they want changes?
Or pussy foot around it and still earn thousands of dollars on 2 minute matches?

You know, remember when promos used to play during matches with intrusive video pops in the top right corner?
Why don't they bring it back but it is optional?

We have technology now where you just press one button and you can have 4 different channels playing at once, if they did that, they could have more time for matches (meaning more time to improve) but at the same time everyone gets their own time to promote themselves on a separate sub-menu or app.
Hell you can pause everything, its not like you can watch WWE technology without those features anymore.

The rookies get better opportunities? Yes. They focus better on storylines and character development, not to mention, they have a small focused crowd that loves wrestling. Of course they perform better.

However, this may pose to be an issue when they move to the main roster. Arenas are bigger, harder to convey in ring actions and characters are more "distant" emotionally too.

Target audience will be different, mostly kids too. The reason why we were so involved with Sami Zayn's path to redemption is because as teens and adults, we relate to him.

So I don't see why the main roster should be jealous much. Then again, if I am in the main roster, I would love to go down to NXT. I am sure I will have better matches, and also the titles are more prestigious than the main roster titles right now.

^ That's what I thought. Both shows have totally different crowds and fans. Kids barely care about NXT, yet they love the WWE. Which is why NXT has the freedom to have more "mature" storylines, matches, etc. AND, it's full of young talent.

I do not mean to disrespect the main roster, but Kane, The Big Show, Mark Henry, and countless others need to just pass the torch.

Everyone has seen that people aren't interested in them, and right now, they're focusing on Ambrose, Rollins, Wyatt, Ziggler, etc.

I don't understand how didn't they realize with Survivor series that Dolph Ziggler can perfectly be a top main eventer. He pretty much made that match memorable, to me it wasn't even Sting who made the night. It was Ziggler.

well the NXT guys get more match time, they also happen to be old buddies from the indies so their chemistry speaks for itself, mean while on RAW you have freakin puppets guest hosting or lame segments and not enough athletic time.

so Trips has gone and bought the best indies from around the world so they can only be seen on WWE, genius.
