Many within TNA Wrestling are clinging onto the hope that Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff will be gone in 2 weeks. Hogan's contract expires on October 1st, with Bischoff's ending a few days later.
Hogan is apparently furious with the way that Dixie Carter has been running the company over the last few months, and is demanding more control if he is to stay around. At the same time, members of TNA management are not sure if it is even worthwhile keeping Hogan on board.
The company is in major debt right now, and they have been forced to terminate over 2 dozen contracts in order to save money. Every performer and staff member has been asked to take a pay-cut, with those who disagreed being released. During this process, management realised that much of their money was going towards Hogan’s paycheques. Hogan is easily the highest paid staff member. A stipulation in Hogan’s contract means that he gets a bonus every time he makes an appearance at a TNA event. This bonus is always higher than what the highest paid performer receives. And Hogan has the authority to book himself as often as he pleases. On top of this, Hogan is the only person who is allowed to book himself for appearances outside of TNA without prior approval from management, and can make extra money from licensing his name and image.
Hogan is also mad at TNA for releasing his daughter Brooke Hogan as a cost-cutting measure. Brooke served little purpose and refused to take any bumps. So it did not make sense for her to be making as much as she was being paid. Hogan denies being told about her release before it happened, and says that he should have been the one to deal with it quietly. But in reality, Hogan was the only person who voted against the idea, meaning that he had to have been aware of it coming.
He has also been blaming Dixie for refusing to meet with Bischoff and himself anymore. The reality is that Hogan keeps no-showing these meetings and randomly taking time off.
Over the years, Hogan has openly criticised Dixie and her input into creative and business decisions. He insults her in interviews and over his official Twitter account. He has recently been offended by Dixie’s support of A.J. Styles. Hogan had planned for Styles to sit out for a year before returning with his “No-One†gimmick. But as Styles was not being promoted, paid or set up for a story line, Dixie demanded that he got brought back early. She later overruled Hogan’s decision to have Style miss the Bound For Glory pay-per-view, instead arranging for Styles to be in the main event.
Jeff Jarrett has recently returned to TNA shows and is fulfilling the roles that he used in the pre-Hogan era. Many are taking this as a positive sign that Hogan is on his way out.
