Hey chaps,

So eh, it's a little frustrating to switch back and fourth between Photoshop and No Mercy to view modifications to textures. To cut back on this I'm going to develop to 'basic' software in the spare time I get from my military training. My goal is this-

- Render character model
- Choose which textures to load onto the model ( your skin )
- Have it load PSD's as textures so developers can quick save, switch back to the software and it will update in real time
- Have a save button, that will save the imported textures on the current skin to an XML file, in which you can open again after closing the software and return to modding that skin ( it's a basic save function ).

This can only really work for Wrestlers ( maybe weapons? ) - if you have any other suggestions post below.

This would be effing incredible! 2.1 makes me reset the whole emu every time I want to check my alignments.

If you can do this Bombardier bro, this will save so much time making mods, and will actually get my lazy ass into Hi-res modding. I have always wanted software that was easy accessible.

Brilliant idea man.

I'd love if we figured how to use the UVW map and get a UVW templated, would make textures 10x easier to arrange

Alright, so I have the fundamentals down ( rendering geometry and assigning textures, along side some basic UI layout ). This is the direction I'm going with the tool, I'll most likely opt for Scrollbars on the side panels because there's quite a lot of options.

So the premise of the Software works, it'll do what we require here for modding. But I thought I had the No Mercy models ripped, which I did but I re-formatted my PC recently and completely forgot to back them up. Unfortunately now I'm having issues ripping the character meshes completely, it seems to not want to rip the character models, only the UI. If someone wants to help me out here and rip them for me, I'd very much appreciate it!

This is the best thing I've ever seen for NO Mercy. This is some of what I was talking about in my thread about ripping models from the game. I noticed other games had specific software that made the mod process much easier.

How did you initially rip the models from the game? I tried 3D Ripper DX and 1964 emulator with the LEMD3D8.dll but I only managed to rip a partial arena with one of them I forget which. Trouble with Blender is after ripping with 3D Ripper DX I have to convert it ( to use in Blender) and that's hard to do.

I'd like to use 3DS Max ( then don't need to convert) but I don't have the money for it and by the time I figured it out the free trial would be over.

I don't know what I'm doing so you can keep the answers short and simple if you like.

I originally ripped them by using the 1964 Emulator and Lem's plugin - but it runs No Mercy shockingly awful, then I would convert it to an obj and then play with it in 3DS Max. I'm really disappointed I didn't save them.

If I had the models now, I would be able to finish the software very quickly. I don't have enough knowledge on how to re-import a model into a rom though, I know it can be done ( seen it with Goldeneye ).

I ripped this with 3D Ripper DX. Not sure if what I have is usefull or not but I put it in a zip file if you want to take a look.

It has a 3DR,MTL, OBJ files but the OBJ has 0 bytes. It also has DDS textures files. Not sure why the OBJ file is empty.

The Lem plugin does run the game horribly. I wan't sure if it would work given how the game looked.
