DDP vs RVD. TLC match ECW arena. Froze 4 times in a row, always outside the ring.

I've had the freeze bug for nearly a year now on my own save that has nothing to do with Showdown. My problems started with people who got thrown out of the ring on the top right corner, it would freeze, then it somehow spread to the lower right and also the left side. It hasn't happened now for nearly a month since I turned off the full entrance cheat code. I don't think Showdown has that cheat though.

Actually that cheat is on. Skip entrances is also on but so is full intros. idk why that would cause the issue but Ill try it. The glitch seems to come and go. Played 8 matches or so and not a freeze. Ill report back with the full intros off.

(Edit): Tried it with full intros off RVD and DDP again and still freezes every time.

Don't want to make it sound like im complaining too much, enjoying the hell outta this game and thanks again for the work.

One more thing, any way to get extra tables in a match? I seen Keson's WIP table code but I can't find any info on what it is.

So I had a similar situation happen just now while I was playing a fatal four way in the old Raw arena. Brock Lesnar had CM Punk in an electric chair position and I was going to do a diving moonsault off the top rope as Shawn Michaels. The game froze just as I hit Punk

Edit: I just had an epiphany. Is it possible that this could be due to the ring size hacks? Almost all accounts of the freezing glitch involve exiting and entering the rings or at the very least, interacting with the ring's sides in some way. If the ring size hacks actually do influence the chances of the glitch happening, would it be safe to turn off the hack by unchecking its cheat box?

Could this freeze glitch also be specific to version 2.1? I never had a freeze issue with 1.6 saves but it seems to happen on 2.1.

Can reproduce this freeze in every match in those conditions.
It does not always happen immediately when the wrestlers are outside, but it will happen not tool long during the match when someone is outside.

I tried with the whole "Arenas" section of the cheats disabled and it still froze after DDP threw RVD out of the ring

I wondered if it's the match type that is buggy, as i have not played a single TLC match out of those tests, and while i think about it, i never played on the ECW arena before too.

To test if it's the match type, i played normal match on RAW with DDP and RVD, and didn't crashed for a long time despite there were plenty of outside fights, but after +/- 7 minutes while DDP was standing up after RVD threw him outside (and was doing his taunt multiple time), the game froze.

So it seems it's not the match type or the ECW arena specifically too

I can confirm it is not the arena or match type. Been playing a lot and it happens at pretty much random. Taker vs Austin at Raw, froze, Cena vs Bret, froze and a four way match, froze. All outside the ring. It does seem worse with some but its hard to tell if its coincidence.

I mapped a save state button to my controller so I can simply save when I go outside and restore if it freezes.

As complex as this game was to make its going to be pretty hard to narrow it down because its so random when it occurs. Gotta keep messing with cheats I suppose.

Cheats > Showdown 64 > Optional entrances > Skip entrances.

You want to uncheck that.

Thanks I did that but I still don't know which buttons to press at the top of the screen to switch entrances from off to on...

You don't need to uncheck the skip entrances cheat in order to enable entrances.

If you look at the top of the screen, there is a picture of the analog stick tilted left next to the off button and a picture of the analog stick tilted right next to the on button. So, you push the buttons that you have mapped for them to turn the entrances on and off.

Oh ok thanks for the reply. I tried it that way and it wouldn't move. But once I unchecked it, it worked. What happens if I do it that way?

Love the update.

I noticed that when i do one vs one deathmatch, the gameplay is a bit slower . It is the same speed as the orginal cart when you play the n64 hardware 4 player mode. I know it is a stretch, but can you speed up the game play? or better yet, remove death match? lol


Either way, i love this game. I am so glad the fan signs work! This probably the best mod for this system

So if you guys are gonna use someones textures and face and edit it a bit please give me credit the boots of jyd I purposely put stars on inside to know if someone did this here is the original jyd model before they edited it!!! Not cool guys please fix this give me credit for this i worked hard on this mod i still have the original psd files to prove this! If i have to prove this!!! also i do like what you guys did with face tho! also the dog collar was made by Ronald rain or rr. The base is from the Creation Kit, the rest is made my myself and Jordy. If Jordy used your parts, he never told me.
