You can always edit the entrance later.

Let's say we keep default existing wrestlers to be replaced by ones that need advanced entrance and add those who don't need advanced entrance in no model slots.

Yes, we keep away from save games until we have our complete roster since moveset editing is so much quicker with svredit.

Advanced entrances can be handled when the patch is ready. We will give a similar entrance, perhaps we should hack in old entrances too?

I want our patch to work like a real released WWE game. It works 100% without a save game. However we should also share those in the future.

About replacing existing wrestlers, there are some things we must consider:
A. They have cheer sounds.
B. They are announced in entrances.
C. Therefor we should not use their slots in the beginning but only change their arc references to point at no models instead.

Some of you have received some links now to my setup.

Please test it out. I've made a backup of our start.
If you make changes and the game crashes contact me and I will restore the backup. This means we MIGHT loose changes now and then if we do something bad but those of you who have worked with the editor before should know the drill.

Well, I don't really think the arc space will be much of a problem if we start by replacing existing wrestlers.
MaiCue is absolutely right. We should replace all unused existing characters for two reasons:
- If we keep them, they will appear in Royal Rumbles
- We should have bigger roster. This patch will not be a Legends patch without:

Big Bossman
Brutus 'the Barber' Beefcake
'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan
Hercules
Honky Tonk Man
Iron Sheik
Kamala
Lex Luger
Nikolai Volkoff
One Man Gang
Powers of Pain - Barbarian & Warlord
Sgt. Slaughter
Typhoon
Vader
Yokozuna

Also we could have all or some of the following, (or even more if we add WWF attitude era wrestlers):
<div class='spoiler_toggle'>list</div><div class="spoiler" style="display:none;">Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard
Big John Studd
Brooklyn Brawler
Bushwackers - Butch & Luke
Diesel
Doink
Don Muraco
Dynamite Kid
George 'the Animal' Steele
Haku
IRS
Killer Bees
King Kong Bundy
Mankind
'Mr Wonderful' Paul Orndorff
Papa Shango
Razor Ramon
Scott Steiner & Rick Steiner
Texas Tornado</div>

Finally we should decide what era we are going for, and if we will have WCW and ECW also.
For example, there is Sting, Sabu, Sandman, Dreamer etc. in the list.
If we have those, we should add more WCW and ECW Legends.
For arc space reasons, i suggest we start with one era (for example WWF 80s-90s) and then see if we have space for more.

this should be professional but I am unsure that you can hack in old entrances although I saw a member qcawlity who hacked in old entrances but I failed to do so from 2006 let's see if other hackers cam help us out in this

I say there are two important eras to go for, in importance order:

1. 80:s-90:s WWF.
2. Mid 90:s Monday Night Wars era.

ECW is secondary but they had some interesting guys like RVD that would be cool to have.

do I love the list but still replacing characters will result the ringannouncers to spell them wrong and Cole will speak shut about them

btw I think I can also edit audience boards

I couldn't care less about the announcer and Michael Cole thing.

You know, if we add them to a no model slot, everything goes completely silent.

It's just as good as having Michael Cole talking about someone completely irrelevant.

Again MaiCue is right, all others will be silent, so we should find a way to make the replaced models silent,
or we can turn off commentary, which is flawed, boring and worthless.

A bigger roster is much more important than this awful commentary.

@80las; Yeah, and the default commentary isn't really that good to begin with.

About arenas, Orson had released logos for all old school WWF PPVs, we can easily edit one of the WWF arenas (Nike's and/or mine) and change just the apron and a couple of logos.
Also we should try several ideas to improve audience. I thought about coloring them in 80's bright colors, and making them blurry to look like the camera is focused mainly in the ring.

I think this hypothesis was proved wrong that you could only use rr arena for editing and as far as criwd goes I edited them and made them blur but still it didnot look cool maybe you guys can try

btw I think we all forgot about ragnarocks move hacks :toast:

I think that if we deleted the sound file links in the arc file, we could remove unwanted introductions.

I agree 100%.

About incorrect introductions and announcing I say this:
- We try to do as much as possible without bugs.
- Therefor first we complete characters on no model slots.
- When that is complete we will start overwriting the characters that exist.

And no matter how buggy the commentary and introductions are, to me it still adds a little value to the game play experience.

What is the format of the announcing sound files?
It would be cool if we could just exchange sound files from older games for the legends that are imported from those games.

The Hogan-Hogan-Hogan chant from SYM is a must for a legends patch if this is possible!

cool idea bro or we could encode mp3 with the announcer names[/quote]If you record new ones, you will have matches like this.

Lilian Garcia: "Making his way to the ring, from Parts Unknown: the Ultimate Warrior".
Michael Cole: "What do you make of JTG, King?"

That's why I suggested disabling them all together.
