Originally, Ben Stiller wrote this film so that he could play the Cable Guy, but he wound up playing Stan Sweet (the actor on trial).

Stiller wanted Owen Wilson to be Stephen, but he was instead cast as the unnamed "Robin's Date" and got beaten up in the bathroom. And Janeane Garfalo was meant to be Robin, but became the sarcastic waitress.

Sometimes l like to imagine the film if the intended actors played their parts. And does it suck!
